With all due respect to Grandma (you see mine in the picture above), she just didn't have access to the different oils that are available to soap makers in our day and age. The luxurious, moisturizing soaps of today, would have been considered "fancy toliet soaps" in Grandma's day. But Grandma was right all along, because real soap is made with lye. If you don't have lye, you don't have soap.
A common misconception is that lye soap is harsh on the skin. Truth is, commerical soaps have more of a tendency to be harsh
on your skin because most of them are made with harsh detergents that can often irritate the skin. Real soap is much better
for your skin, plain and simple!
Real soap, as stated, is lye soap. It is approximately three parts soap, plus one part glycerin. And here's another
difference between commerical soaps and real soap .... most commerical soaps have the glycerin extracted so that it
can be sold separately. Most commerical soaps are really more of a detergent, than a real soap.
Now that you know the rest of the story .... try it for yourself and experience the difference!
Try our soaps and you may never go back to store-bought again! And thanks, Grandma!
You had it right, all along!
